Captains Edition was built over many years in a modular fashion, so contains a lot of smaller gameplay tweaks which make the game better. In its current form, it really gives off a modern sci-fi vibe, perfect for adding an extra element of authenticity to the experience.
The mod has been updated with new versions over time, adding more and more detail to the planets and backgrounds found in the game. The game was already pretty good-looking but this mod just gives things an extra boost in sharpness. This mod by sanmonku gives the game a nice coat of polish, adding more dynamic backgrounds and detailed planet designs in the process. Given that Faster Than Light originally came out way back inyou may want to upgrade the visuals a bit.
