I can just avoid that screen and exit the menu and I can keep playing the game, but I can't go any further because the enemies are so much stronger than me. But then I finish the mission on the beach and after I finish speaking with Master Li, I go to level up, but once I click on my character and enter the level-up stat change menu, the game window flickers in and out a few times and it crashes and closes. I searched for a solution which was the create “SystemInformation.xml” and copy “steam.dll” to the Jade Empire folder. Before I could start the game though it would crash, during to config issues, which I learned is fairly infamous.
Since I first played it I got a new laptop and there were issues with transferring data, so I just reinstalled the game fresh and started a new file. I got this game a while ago and started playing it, only getting to the spirit cave at the beginning before I had to put it down to focus on other things.
